The global organization that issues identification standards (GTIN, GLN, SSCC).
Definition
GS1 is the non-profit that maintains the global unique identification standards for products and locations used in retail, healthcare and logistics. GS1 codes (GTIN for products, GLN for locations, SSCC for logistic units) are prerequisites for doing EDI with any major retailer. In Romania, GS1 Romania is the official representative.
